FAQs
- X-Ray Exams– Patients are required to have X-Ray exams performed every 12-24 months to maintain proper oral healthcare. These guidelines are established by the American Dental Association and are followed in our office. There are of course certain exceptions as in pregnancy and history of radiation therapy.
- Medical Clearance– Medical clearance is needed for many situations, and is typically required before dental treatment can be delivered. If there is recent history of any surgery, prior history of joint replacement, organ transplant, or heart surgery/illness, a clearance would be needed from a medical provider to make sure that any dental care can be administered in our office.
- Antibiotic Prophylaxis– At this point in time, Antibiotics are still often required prior to dental treatment if there is a history of joint replacement. This decision is to be made by individual physicians and is a part of our medical clearance process. If you are required to take Antibiotics, prescriptions will be typically filled by your physician or surgeon and to be taken prior to your appointment. If status of Antibitotic Prophylaxis is unknown, your appointment may need to be rescheduled until it is known.
- Invisalign– Invisalign is offered within our practice, however, prior to starting Invisalign, a consultation is required to see if you would be a good candidate and if you have good existing dental health to allow for treatment to start. Schedule your free consultation today.
- Whitening– We offer two options for whitening with our office. There is the well known Zoom option as well fabrication of take home trays with Philips day time or night time bleaching gel. Whitening does not work with all cases in the ideal way as with people who have “gray” coloration to their teeth and if there are existing restorations. A consultation and possibly a cleaning are required prior to starting the whitening process with us.
